Stargate School Second Annual Founders Conference

September 13, 2008

Stargate School

Due to low registration numbers, "Educating the Whole Child and Developing a Gifted Community" will not be held on Sept. 13, 2008.

The Founders Conference was established in Fall 2007, to honor the diverse group of parents and educators who, in 1994, established Colorado’s eighth charter school. Facilitated by Stargate staff, its purpose is twofold: to celebrate the unique nature of the school and to offer training and education in the needs of gifted students. We hope to demonstrate the importance, significance and relevance of Stargate’s unique character by showcasing both the school and its staff to the local community. Additionally we will communicate how best to address both academic and the social and emotional needs of this population.

The event will include a day-long educational seminar with a variety of sessions, covering differentiation in the classroom, gender differences, technology and the gifted student, foreign language instruction, social/emotional needs, and others.

Stargate faculty and staff members will conduct breakout information sessions reflecting these themes. Cost of the event will remain the same as last year: $30.00 in advance or $35.00 at the door on the day of the conference. Registration includes a continental breakfast with espresso cart and lunch. Child care will be on-site. Participation credits for educators will be available.

Contact Valicia McPherson in the Stargate School Library at 303.450.3936, ext.124 or via e-mail at for more information.

Registration is not yet available. Save the date and spread the word. Hope we see you then!
